What's Going on in the Classroom: Found-Object Sculpture

It has been a hot mess in the art room the last two weeks! Wow! Today we're having a clean up day and I'm so relieved because my semi-organized self is going nuts with everything that's all over the place. But we've had a really good time putting together these Found-Object Sculptures. Students were required to create a sculpture using at least one item that they brought in or 'found' to create a sculpture. Each of my classes had a different theme for their sculpture. The themes were flight, nautical, space, and nature. We spent and good day or so brainstorming and sketching and then students went to work. They used everything at their disposal, and by everything, I mean eeee-ver-yyy-thing! But they are turning out really cool. Check out students working and projects that are pretty near completion.
